Tony Cascarino has claimed in The Times that Timo Werner still has a lot of work to do in order to prove himself at Chelsea. The German striker scored the Blues’ second goal during Saturday’s 3-1 win over Southampton.
It’s been a difficult 12 months for the international striker. He has found the Premier League tough going and has fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel.
Chelsea signed Romelu Lukaku over the summer and that has piled the pressure on Werner to sort himself out. On his performance on Saturday, he looks up to the challenge.
