‘Special’: Man City talent lauds £35m Pep signing who ‘changed the way’ football is played

Manchester City youngster Gavin Bazunu has lauded fellow goalkeeper Ederson Moraes for the impact the Brazilian has had on the role.

Speaking to the Independent, the Republic of Ireland international praised the City number one for evolving the goalkeeping role into what it is now. Ederson was the first real example of a shot-stopper who is also excellent with his feet.

Since Ederson’s £35m arrival to Manchester in 2017, the Premier League has seen an explosion of keepers who are quality with both their hands and their feet. Jordan Pickford, Alisson Becker and Hugo Lloris are all similar to the City star on the ball.
