A consulting company tied to a former high-ranking state Health Department official — fired at the height of the pandemic — was hit with a subpoena from a state grand jury last year, according to new court filings.
Margolis Healy and Associates, the consulting firm, revealed it had received the subpoena only after lawyers for Christopher Neuwirth, the fired state official, recently sought those same records in connection with a whistleblower lawsuit he has filed against New Jersey and Gov. Phil Murphy.
Meanwhile, the Attorney General’s office is seeking to delay that lawsuit until after the Nov. 2 gubernatorial election, according to the case docket. Neuwirth’s attorney asked the court to deny the request
