Here’s how the experience of the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6 could be improved with a multiplayer mode in the style of GTA Online or Dark Souls.
Even though it’s a long way off, The Elder Scrolls 6 is a hot topic of discussion, with long-time fans publicly hoping for a plethora of new features: some wish for a more elegant combat system, others for a non-western fantasy setting in the vein of Morrowind, and many hope the Elder Scrolls 6 will have a multiplayer mode similar to GTA Online or Dark Souls. Would Bethesda be able to implement this kind of multiplayer mode without breaking the game, and what form would it take?
Bethesda Softworks has already published two multiplayer iterations of its most famous RPG franchises. There’s the Elder Scrolls Online, developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, which is a massive MMO where millions of players can quest and journey across the fantasy continent of Tamriel, while Fallout 76, developed by Bethesda Game Studios, immerses player in the radioactive, mutant-haunted wastelands of Appalachia. Fans of these RPG franchises, however, are hoping to see a somewhat different brand of multiplayer included with the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6.
