In its third week of playing international markets, Dune has passed a new milestone before releasing domestically. Dune is adapted from Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel of the same name. Denis Villeneuve, known for directing films like Arrival and Blade Runner 2049, is at the helm, and he’s put together a stellar cast. Timothée Chalamet, Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, and Javier Bardem are just some of the names lending their acting talents to the film. The movie’s epic story follows the noble Atreides family who protects the galaxy’s vital spice.
As reported by Collider, Dune brought in another $13.7 million at the international box office in its third week of release, which brings the film to over $100 million. Dune is currently playing in thirty-two markets across six thousand screens, and it’s set to add to that number in two weeks when it releases in the United States. However, Dune‘s domestic release will also see the film streaming on HBO Max in a day-and-date release.
