The upcoming X Lives/X Deaths of Wolverine event is going to usher in the Second Age of Krakoa, according to series writer Benjamin Percy.
WARNING: Spoilers for X Lives of Wolverine #1 ahead.
The fate of Krakoa will be at stake in the upcoming X Lives of Wolverine #1 and X Deaths of Wolverine #1, with Wolverine needing to embark on a “time-shredding duel with fate” that Marvel promises will usher in The Second Krakoan Age. The writer for the event, Benjamin Percy, who is using the same dual-release format as House of X and Powers of X, which established the new mutant nation of Krakoa, is confident that this is, “…the greatest Wolverine story ever told.”
X Lives of Wolverine/X Deaths of Wolverine will explore Logan revisiting key moments from his life, including “forgotten” events, while the “Snikt Family” attempts to bring him home. With the recent explosive events of “Inferno” already threatening Krakoa and Arakko’s best-laid plans, it is up to Wolverine to travel through time to save mutantkind, by fighting to “prevent the death of a key figure in mutant history.” James Logan Howlett has lived for centuries, with time travel and his incredible healing factor allowing him to live essentially as an immortal, so his history is ripe for diverse storytelling.
